The Shard
London, England
The Shard was the tallest building in Europe and thus the tallest building in London. The Tower is 310 meters high and has 72 usable floors, plus a further 15 floors with heating installations. In addition to two observation platforms, the skyscraper has 26 floors of offices, a restaurant and hotel, with 12 floors for apartments. The construction of the Shard lasted more than 12 years and in November 2012 the tower was completed.
Since February 2013 it is possible for the public to visit the Shard and at an altitude of 244 meters enjoy the beautiful 360-degree view over London. This 360-degree view is possible through the observation platform which is located on the 69th floor of the tower. From this point you can see up to 64 kilometres away in good weather.
